根据来自IDC合Gartner的独立报告，Sun公司是2006年中，唯一逆市增长的服务器厂家。（According to separate reports from market trackers IDC and Gartner, Sun was the only top-tier vendor to gain share last year, reversing years of share losses.）

IDC和Gartner的数据非常一致，Sun公司在2006年度占据了全球服务器市场10.8%的份额。Sun公司的主要竞争对手，IBM和HP都有不同程度的下滑。
